weekend starts

Friday the 4th of September, we had our first meeting with Meghraj at the office of human settlement.
He normally should explain us the different tasks, and introduce us to a fast and working computer (hmm).
Maarten and I are seen as two total different architects, so we both have different assignments.
He should be working on the first social housing project in Bhutan, I should work on the design of a town hall in Bajo.
Which seems complicated now that I got all the guidelines about traditional architecture in Bhutan.
I believe so complicated that even the Bhutanese need to look at the guidelines 10 times a day. Know that there are 19 type of roofs, 4 traditional types of windows, and so on. But I can manage :-)

In the afternoon our friend Dumber released us from the office by taking us with the driver of the office to see the 2 temples outside Thimphu. (I believe Dazling and Begana...)
It is confirmed, for now, Dumber is the most funny Bhutanese we have met. They are shewing this strange nut, enveloped in a leaf, with coconut and lime, which makes them feeling drunk, high,... Dumber is the king in shewing :-)

Back home, we get a message from Campbell, the typical Australian expat in Bhutan, who takes us to dinner in THE typical expat restaurant.

Saturday we meet the first rain in Bhutan... and yes, it is true, when it rains, it doesn't stop...
Comunque, we go for a walk to the royal palace and his weed plants. Indeed, there is weed in every corner, and especially around the royal palace :-)
But, they don't smoke weed, they don't cultivate it, they just shew this horrible thing that make the teeth red an ugly...

In the evening, we meet the fancy friends of Durga, who strangely enough weren't be further than Thimphu and Paro... Totally drunk (seems to be a habit here), they promised to come with us when we go for our big 3day trekking!!

And at midnight we drink the first beer for Maartens Birthday.
weekend officially started!!!
